Plans afoot to turn Muhyiddin into UMNO number one?

It therefore appears that there are two proposals – one, to bring Muhyiddin back and reinstate him as party deputy president, and the other, to bring him back and confer him the title of party president, presumably in an acting capacity. Source (pic): TTF Files

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s sacking from UMNO can be reversed after which he can be named the party’s prime minister candidate for the 15th general election (GE15).

This was expressed by UMNO deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, who reportedly said the decision to sack Muhyiddin as deputy president could also be reversed.

Three weeks earlier, UMNO secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa revealed that the party would name Muhyiddin as prime minister candidate in the upcoming general election.

Several days later, Padang Rengas Member of Parliament Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz proposed that Muhyiddin return to UMNO and take over from Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as party president.

PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s sacking from UMNO can be reversed after which he can be named the party’s prime minister candidate for the 15th general election (GE15).

This was expressed by UMNO deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, who reportedly said the decision to sack Muhyiddin as deputy president could also be reversed.

“If (he) intends to return to the party, we can reverse the decision to sack him. We welcome it if Tan Sri (Muhyiddin) wants to return to Umno, which is better that way,” Mohamad reportedly said

Three weeks earlier, UMNO secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa revealed that the party would name Muhyiddin as prime minister candidate in the upcoming general election.

According to Annuar, shared the same stand as PAS in their support for Muhyiddin as prime minister following a meeting between them two weeks ago.

“During the meeting, we agreed to name him as the prime minister if we win the general election.

“The message of support will also be conveyed to our members through our own party channels,” he reportedly told a press conference.

Several days later, Padang Rengas Member of Parliament Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz proposed that Muhyiddin return to UMNO and take over from Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as party president.

Nazri argued this would resolve the bulk of the problems with seat allocation within Perikatan Nasional for the 15th general election.

TTF is made to understand that the proposals have not been well received by some leaders from Team A and Team B while others argue that it is the best solution for UMNO and Barisan Nasional.
