THE THIRD FORCE
I must say, Khairy Jamaluddin did an exemplary job highlighting the questionable role played by the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) which, according to him, was “unaccountable and unelected.” The Rembau Member of Parliament (MP) was right to point out that the council overstepped its prescribed role as an advisory body by effecting the immediate resignations of two top judges. Khairy also questioned if Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz’s appointment as chairperson of both Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) and Sime Darby Properties was with conflict of interest.
