Several police reports have been lodged against former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) secretary-general Datuk Marzuki Yahya for allegedly causing “confusion” among party members.

Johor Baru Armada (Youth) chief Mohd Hafiz Abdullah said Marzuki had already been sacked from his post, and as such, had no authority to issue letters or statements.

Marzuki was relieved from his position as party secretary-general effective March 18, via a notice from Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Muhyiddin then appointed Hamzah, who is also the Home Minister, on March 26.

Hafiz said he received a copy of a letter bearing the Bersatu letterhead and Marzuki’s signature in the capacity of secretary-general on Thursday night.

KUALA LUMPUR: Several police reports have been lodged against former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) secretary-general Datuk Marzuki Yahya for allegedly causing “confusion” among party members.

Johor Baru Armada (Youth) chief Mohd Hafiz Abdullah said Marzuki had already been sacked from his post, and as such, had no authority to issue letters or statements.

“Several party members lodged police reports as Marzuki’s action confuses party members.

“We all know that he no longer holds the position as secretary-general after the president sacked him from his post.

“The president has already appointed his replacement, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin,” he told the New Straits Times today.

The letter was addressed to organising secretary Capt (Rtd) Muhammad Suhaimi Yahya, informing him of his purported sacking from the party.

Hafiz had urged all party members to close ranks and unite to strengthen the party to face the 15th general election.

“Now is not the time to fight among ourselves. We should be one big family,” he added.
