Pro-UMNO portal claims Guan Eng arrested by anti-corruption

A news portal seen to be pro-UMNO, Suara TV, claims former Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has been detained by the Anti-Corruption Commission moments ago.

Citing an unnamed source, the portal said Guan Eng is currently at the Putrajaya MACC.

DAP had previously informed that Guan Eng had met with his group of lawyers to discuss the possibility of his detention.

TTF is in the midst of verifying the claim, though rumors have been abound the past week over Guan Eng’s impending arrest.


PETALING JAYA: A news portal seen to be pro-UMNO, Suara TV, claims former Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has been detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) moments ago.

Citing an unnamed source, the portal said Guan Eng is currently at the Putrajaya MACC.




Guan Eng was allegedly arrested in connection with the RM6.3 billion Penang Undersea Tunnel project scandal and three highways.

“Based on the investigation and witness statements recorded earlier show that there is a strong case that claims him. Yes, at the latest this afternoon,” the portal quoted the source as saying.
