PUTRAJAYA: Prominent lawyer Datuk V. Sithambaram is expected to join the prosecution team for Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s trial scheduled to begin on Feb 12.

An online portal quoted sources on Sithambaram’s inclusion into the prosecution team.

However, attempts to contact the top criminal lawyer yesterday were unsuccessful.

His said inclusion sparked interest among the legal fraternity.

Sithambaram has a wealth of experience practising law, having served the profession for more than 30 years.

Last year, Attorney General Tommy Thomas, who opted out of leading the prosecution for the 1MDB case against the former prime minister, appointed Sulaiman to lead the prosecution team.
