Rep. Jasmine Crockett, a Texas Democrat who is openly considering a run for the U.S. Senate, has an unresolved homeowner association debt tied to her Dallas condominium that has remained outstanding for more than a year, according to county property records.
A lien filed on April 11, 2024, and published on the Dallas County Clerk’s website, lists an unpaid balance of $3,047.79 owed to the Westside Condominium Association.
The filing states that Crockett “is in default in her obligation for payment of assessments and has failed and refused and continues to fail and refuse, despite demand upon her, to pay the Association assessments and related charges properly levied against the Property.”
The legal notice places a claim against the property, preventing it from being sold or transferred until the balance is settled.

The Dallas County Clerk’s Office confirmed Tuesday evening that no release has been recorded, meaning the amount remains unpaid. Crockett’s office did not respond to a request for comment.
Property records indicate Crockett bought the unit in May 2014 and is registered to vote at the address.
Listings for Westside Condominiums describe the gated development as providing a “refreshing retreat” with “comfort and convenience in a secure setting,” featuring a pool, clubhouse, modern kitchens and bathrooms “designed with spa-like features.”
According to the listing, homeowner association fees range from $222 to $403 monthly and cover building maintenance, utilities, sewer and water.
The disclosure comes as Crockett, a high-profile progressive lawmaker representing Texas’ 30th Congressional District, has been the subject of scrutiny over campaign spending revealed in her Federal Election Commission filings.
Those filings show nearly $75,000 spent this year on luxury hotels, transportation and security in cities across the country, including Martha’s Vineyard, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Since January, her campaign has reported spending $25,748.87 specifically on upscale lodging and limousine services.
The expenditures include $4,175.01 at the Ritz-Carlton and $2,304.79 at The Luxury Collection, along with $5,326.52 at the West Hollywood Edition in Los Angeles and $1,173.92 at the Times Square Edition in New York City.
Additional charges include more than $2,000 at the Cosmopolitan and Aria in Las Vegas, $2,703.14 at the Edgartown Inn, and $3,160.93 at The Coco in Martha’s Vineyard.
Transportation costs showed $2,728.00 paid to Transportation 4 U in Chicago, $2,310.30 to DCA Car LLC, and $1,254.00 to Bay Area Limousine.
Campaign disclosures also reflect nearly $50,000 spent on security during the same reporting period.
The security spending has drawn attention in light of Crockett’s past public support for police funding reductions.
In 2021, while serving in the Texas House, she said: “The Defund movement seeks to actually bring about healing and finally invest in our communities to make them safer, addressing the root causes of crime and by allowing the professionals to do their respective jobs. Defund is about finally being smart on crime. Defund is about lightening the load for our offices of all things they didn’t sign up for. Defund is about finally being fiscally responsible when it comes to policing in this state.”
A longtime Democratic strategist who has worked on national campaigns criticized Crockett’s potential candidacy.
“The more we learn about Jasmine Crockett, the more clear it is that she’s the worst possible candidate to run for Senate in Texas,” the strategist told Fox News Digital. “Recent weeks have shown she’s just not ready for primetime.”
Crockett has also faced controversy this year after referring to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels,” a remark that prompted widespread backlash given Abbott is paraplegic and uses a wheelchair.
She has said she is “seriously weighing” a Senate run and is expected to announce her decision on Dec. 8, according to the San Antonio Current.
Sen. John Cornyn, a Republican seeking a fifth term, is currently facing a competitive primary against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Rep. Wesley Hunt.
