RJ Rithaudeen: Agong more or less tells Anwar to “back off”

It is highly unlikely that the Agong would have thrown such a ‘Majestic’ bash for Mahathir if it were true that Anwar commanded a two-thirds majority support in Parliament. Source (pic): TTF Files

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong seems to have sent a clear signal to Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim to “back off.”

In what amounted to the clearest indicator yet that the PKR president no longer commands the majority support of Parliamentarians, His Majesty and the Raja Permaisuri Agong threw an impromptu birthday party for both Mahathir and wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, at the Istana Negara earlier today.

The statement made by Dato’ Seri Mukhriz Mahathir during an interview with the Nikkei Asian Review was yet another indicator that Anwar is no longer a threat.

For the first time ever, Mukhriz denied that Pakatan Harapan set a timeframe for the succession of premiership as repeatedly claimed by Anwar and his cohorts.

On the 7th of July 2019, TTF published copies of two Statutory Declarations (SD) purporting Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s and Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s unequivocal support for Anwar as the next Prime Minister of Malaysia.

In the article, I asked Anwar to verify the authenticity of the said SDs before making it known that the documents, which seemed fake, were two among many that people closest to Anwar were showcasing as ‘evidence’.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong seems to have sent a clear signal to Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim to “back off.”

According to a report by The New Straits Times Online, the event came following the presentation of the Darjah Yang Maha Utama Darjah Kerabat Diraja Malaysia (D.K.M) to Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

The report read:

Dr Mahathir appeared to be genuinely caught offguard when the special cake along with a pulut kuning dish were brought into the room to mark his 94th birthday, which was yesterday. Dr Siti Hasmah celebrates her 92nd birthday tomorrow.

The royal couple joined in when those present began to sing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song at the cake-cutting ceremony.

The piano-shaped cake in black and white was decorated with flowers, a miniature violin, a piece of musical note and books — perhaps a reflection of Dr Mahathir’s well-known love for reading and Dr Siti Hasmah’s passion for music.

The prime minister and his wife of 63 years then fed each other with a slice of the cake, the happy moment witnessed by Sultan Abdullah and the Queen.

The ceremony was also witnessed by the Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Bakar, the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, and Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

“There was no agreement that it has to be two years. There may have been suggestions like that, but nothing was stated on paper or in a verbal agreement,” Mukhriz was quoted as saying in an interview with the Nikkei Asian Review.

I have repeatedly maintained that the consensus document which PKR insists “was jointly agreed by all key leaders on 7th of January 2018” was never signed.

As a matter of fact, there isn’t any signed agreement to date involving both Mahathir and Anwar that so much as hints of a premiership succession plan.

On the 23rdof June 2019, I wrote:

Anwar couldn’t possibly have been party to the 7thof January 2018 consensus agreement as he was in prison at the time of agreement.

Put two and two together, and you will see just why there are now claims of “two succession documents,” each outlining a “transition plan” that nobody seems sure was signed at all.

And that isn’t even the biggest irony yet.

The biggest irony is, despite all these interviews, news conferences and press statements Anwar’s been giving, he has yet to affirm if he himself was party to any of these ‘agreements’ or if Mahathir himself was involved in any of them.

Per plans, Anwar was supposed to have bundled together 120 -150 Statutory Declarations (SDs) from UMNO, DAP, PKR, AMANAH and Sarawak MPs by coning them – possibly using fake SDs – that he had the support of key PH leaders.

He was then supposed to have headed for the Palace sometime this week to present the SDs as ‘evidence’ to the Yang Di Pertuan Agong.

On the 9thof July 2019, I wrote:

If everything were to have gone according to what the PKR president had ‘scripted’ in his mind, the Agong would have gotten a rude shock, called Mahathir and Anwar in for a meeting before appointing the latter as Prime Minister.

But the coup plot is on its face.

55 MPs have thus far signed retraction SDs to counter the ones they previously signed by citing reasons they no longer support Anwar.

At the time of writing, close to 35 MPs – including a number of the 55 that signed the retractions – have signed “self-protection” SDs to safeguard themselves now that the possible existence of ‘fake SDs’ is out in the open.

I have personally examined a number of the SDs, including one bearing Anwar’s name and signature that was showcased to me by the PKR president’s own men as ‘evidence’ that Anwar commanded a two-thirds majority support in Parliament and was on his way towards becoming PM.

In the SD, not only did Anwar declare the two thirds support, he committed to appointing Muhyiddin as his deputy and assured the Yang di-Pertuan Agong that he would facilitate the “smooth transition of power.”

Due to the expose and the existence of the retraction and “self-protection” SDs, Anwar effectively has 50 or so documents that are genuine and in support of his premiership, discounting, of course, the fake SDs, which I imagine could number as many as 20, perhaps even more.

Gerakan Bangsa Nasional will be holding a press conference tomorrow at 3.30 pm live via the Raggie Jessy Rithaudeen Facebook page and several other pages to explain these developments and two other coup plots that Anwar and his accomplices from the opposition have contrived.
