The Penang State Govt can pay RM6.34 billion for a dodgy Tunnel project that few people is asking for, RM305 million to do reports, RM7.5 billion to build a 19.5km highway at RM385mil per km, RM400mil for a 8-lane road along Gurney drive, at least RM300mil for Gurney Wharf park project and RM46 billion for a Penang Transport project (with funds borrowed from China) which critics say is over-priced and will bankrupt the state in future.
It has sold tens of billions in state land and assets, can extend emergency soft loans of RM639mil to PDC and PBAH and has increased yearly state operational spending by 500% from RM283mil in 2008 to RM1.45 billion per year for 2017.
But it can only afford to pay a total RM100mil over 9 years – or just RM11mil per year – on flood mitigation projects and then point the finger and blame the Federal Govt for not giving them enough funds to do flood projects?
Can anyone from DAP explain what the heck is going on here?
