(Baha Breaking News): Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto stated on Monday that he had a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, during which the two discussed recent United States actions against Venezuelan oil shipments and reaffirmed bilateral cooperation.
“We reviewed the aggressions and flagrant violations of international law that are being committed in the Caribbean: attacks on ships, extrajudicial executions, and the illegal acts of piracy carried out by the United States government,” Pinto shared on Telegram.
He said Lavrov expressed Russia’s solidarity with Venezuela and President Nicolas Maduro, pledging full support against what Moscow views as hostile action, adding that “they support Venezuela in defending the CELAC Peace Zone.”
The call came after the United States confirmed the seizure of an oil tanker off Venezuela’s coast, suspected of carrying sanctioned crude.
Additionally, US President Donald Trump is set to make an announcement later on Monday alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
