Sabah Barisan Nasional and Umno have retracted their support for chief minister Hajiji Noor.
Sabah BN chairman Bung Moktar Radin said Hajiji, who is chairman of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), had violated a pact between BN and Perikatan Nasional made after the state elections in 2020.
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Barisan Nasional and Umno have retracted their support for chief minister Hajiji Noor.
Sabah BN chairman Bung Moktar Radin said Hajiji, who is chairman of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), had violated a pact between BN and Perikatan Nasional made after the state elections in 2020.
BN’s decision to retract support for Hajiji follows a report of a new coup attempt to oust the chief minister and replace him with Bung.

Hajiji’s state government is formed by members of GRS, of which he is chairman, and BN, composed of Sabah Umno led by Bung.
The coalition commands the support of 53 state assembly members. GRS has 29 seats and BN (Umno) 17. The government also has the support of Sabah PH (7) and several minor parties, while Warisan (19) forms the state opposition.
