UMNO turned PPBM politician Tan Sri Rais Yatim made a bold claim yesterday that the Malaysian political cradle will continue to rock should Malaysians be told the name of the person who gave Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz the “lighter to burn Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali.”
But Rais was probably not hinting at Anwar Ibrahim, Mahathir, the DAP or Lokman Adam, as none of them have the capacity or the ability to “rock the political cradle” as Rais suggested given that the going theories implying their involvement in Sodomy 2019 did little other than to give Malaysians a lot to gossip about in coffee shops.
So who was Rais hinting at?
SUBANG JAYA: UMNO turned PPBM politician Tan Sri Rais Yatim made a bold claim yesterday that the Malaysian political cradle will continue to rock should Malaysians be told the name of the person who gave Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz the “lighter to burn Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali.”
The claim, posted on Facebook, hinted of communications between the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad regarding the person who masterminded Haziq’s confession and the release of videos depicting two male individuals in sex acts against the order of nature.
Last Tuesday, Haziq confessed to being one of those individuals and claimed that the person he was having sex with was Azmin.
The buzz on the internet as to who coaxed Haziq to tell on Azmin – in order of decreasing popularity – is Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the DAP and Dato’ Lokman Adam.
In the case of Anwar, the accusation is based on circumstantial evidence derived off stock pictures and video footages suggesting Haziq’s close ties with certain PKR members allied to Anwar.
In the case of Mahathir, the argument is that the Prime Minister wants a ‘weakened’ Azmin as his replacement to ensure that the latter would appoint Dato’ Seri Mukhriz Mahathir as his deputy once he becomes Prime Minister.
According to this theory, due to the sex scandal, Azmin would require Mahathir’s men to be around at all times and would be compelled to appoint Tun Daim Zainuddin as Minister of Finance.

The DAP has also been linked to the scandal in a similar manner Anwar was. Several netizens noted the link between Haziq’s lawyer, Ramesh Sivakumar, and the DAP’s RSN Rayer based on stock pictures suggesting that the duo are associates.
As for Lokman, a very large number of netizens noted the spectacular speed with which the UMNO supreme council member lodged a police report over the clips Haziq referred to in his confessional video.
On the same day, Lokman filed a complaint with the MACC alleging that UEM Group had transferred US$741,440 (about RM3.1 million) into a bank account bearing Azmin’s name on the 19th of December 2017.
UEM was quick to deny this.
In a brief statement made the following day, the conglomerate noted that it did not have an account with the bank’s main branch in Kuala Lumpur nor with the account number that went viral on social media.
The Third Force was made to understand yesterday that Sodomy 2019 is so complex, it may have involved several factions from both Pakatan Harapan and the other side of the political isle.
According to this theory, more than one individual got word of the impending ‘sexpose’ and rushed to partake in the conspiracy in some capacity or other to help bring Azmin down.
Rais, however, was likely hinting at someone else.
None of those named have the capacity or the ability to “rock the political cradle” as Rais suggested given that the going theories implying their involvement did little other than to give Malaysians a lot to gossip about in coffee shops.
So unless he’s trying to fuel speculation just to keep the sodomy hype up for some reason or other, he was probably referring to someone who isn’t Anwar, Mahathir, Lokman or from the DAP.
Question is, who?
And assuming Rais does know something we don’t, why is he holding such privileged information given his role as an ordinary PPBM member “who betrayed UMNO and Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak?”
