KUALA LUMPUR: Muhammed Yusoff Rawther is expected to be present at Bukit Aman today to have his statement recorded after being summoned to do so by the police.
This is to assist investigations into the sexual misconduct allegations made by Muhammed Yusof against PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Bukit Aman CID Prosecution and Law Division (D5) principal assistant director Senior Assistant Commissioner Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said Muhammed Yusoff’s statement would be recorded by the Classified Criminal Investigations Department (USJT) of Bukit Aman at 1pm.
It is learned that Muhammed Yusoff will be accompanied by his lawyer tomorrow.
A press conference is expected to take place after.
The 26-year-old had earlier, via a sworn declaration (SD), claimed that he had been sexually assaulted by a senior politician during his time working as a researcher with the latter.
The assault allegedly took place at the politician’s house.
Muhammed Yusoff held a press conference on Dec 4, where he alleged that there had been no action by the authorities despite furnishing a medical report confirming injuries he allegedly sustained.
Yesterday he lodged a police report at the Sentul district police headquarters, here.
The report was to urge the authorities to investigate Anwar following the SD.
Anwar earlier denied the allegations made by Muhammed Yusoff, labelling it as baseless.
The Port Dickson MP explained that on the alleged date of the misconduct, he was busy campaigning for the Port Dickson by-election and had attended an event to commemorate the 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi in Kuala Lumpur.
Via his lawyer Ramkarpal Singh, Anwar gave Muhammed Yusoff seven days to explain his allegations and the SD.
