State assemblyman questioned over Haziq sex videos

Federal police Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Huzir Mohamed confirmed that a state assemblyman has been questioned by police over the sex video which allegedly involves a senior minister.

Meanwhile, a man was detained in Shah Alam on Friday over the video. Police have obtained a remand order to hold him till Wednesday.

Recently, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador had said analysis by CyberSecurity Malaysia had confirmed that the video clips were highly likely to be genuine, but facial recognition analysis had come back “negative”, meaning that it could not be ascertained if the second man in the video was Azmin.


KUALA LUMPUR: A state assemblyman has been questioned by police over the sex video which allegedly involves a senior minister.

Federal police Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Huzir Mohamed confirmed this in a statement.




“The assemblyman arrived at 10am and was done having his statement recorded at 11.30am,” he said of the 34-year-old.

Meanwhile, a man was detained in Shah Alam on Friday over the video. Police have obtained a remand order to hold him till Wednesday.

A day later, then Santubong PKR chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz released a video recording of his own in which he admitted to being one of the men and alleged that Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali was the other.

Azmin later vehemently denied the allegations, describing it as a nefarious plot to destroy his reputation and political career.

Recently, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador had said analysis by CyberSecurity Malaysia had confirmed that the video clips were highly likely to be genuine, but facial recognition analysis had come back “negative”, meaning that it could not be ascertained if the second man in the video was Azmin.

Hamid had also said police investigations had revealed that “a leader” of “a political party” was behind the dissemination of the video in an effort to destroy the political career of “the minister involved”.
