‘Stop lying to Malaysians about the Johor crisis, Najib’

Raggie Jessy Rithaudeen

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has cleverly turned Osman Sapian’s campaign for Slim candidate Amir Khusyairi into an opportunity to take pot shots at Pakatan Harapan, when clearly, it is a Muafakat Nasional affair.

In a Facebook posting, Najib cautioned that if “PH Plus” insists on fighting for power in Johor, there is a chance the state assembly could be dissolved, paving the way for a nationwide election that would coincide with a state election.

To this, my message to Najib is as follows:

“Stop fooling the people, stop spreading falsehoods and walk the talk by pulling UMNO out from government yourself.”

In the first place, Osman Sapian is a PPBM member and courted controversy by campaigning for Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (PEJUANG) during the Slim by-election.

His involvement means Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is duty bound to declare Osman’s membership in PPBM void the same way he declared Mahathir’s membership void when the former premier chose to sit on the opposition bench in parliament.

This makes it a PPBM affair, which also means it is a Muafakat Nasional affair now that PPBM is a member of the non-registered “Malay-Muslim unity” coalition.

Under the circumstances, should PPBM choose to declare Osman’s membership void – which it must, by precedent – Johor will have a hung assembly.

This would in no way be Pakatan Harapan’s fault, since the problem was triggered by a Muafakat Nasional member, not a Pakatan Harapan member.

So don’t spread lies and give people the impression that what is happening today has something to do with PH Plus, which, if you haven’t already noticed, no longer exists.

The group ceased to exist the minute Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced the establishment of a stand-alone bloc with WARISAN, devoid of any official ties with Pakatan Harapan or Perikatan Nasional.

As per Najib’s challenge for the non existent ‘PH Plus’ to trigger the dissolution of the Johor state assembly, my message to the former premier is as follows:

“Stop being a hypocrite, and trigger the dissolution yourself.

“If you have the guts, advise all elected representatives from UMNO both at state and national levels to distance themselves from government.

“Tell them that there is no valid reason for UMNO to remain in government since PPBM has made a mockery of Muafakat Nasional by allowing non-Muslims to hold positions in the party.

“But everyone knows you don’t have the guts, because Team A is very afraid of a general election. That makes you a hypocrite.

“And it is this hypocrisy has helped make a mockery of Muafakat Nasional and its so-called “Malay-Muslim unity” plan which never existed in the first place.

“Take it from me, you and Team A are nothing but liabilities UMNO can do without and the reason Barisan Nasional fared so miserably during the 14th general election and the Slim by-election.

“If you’re wondering what I mean by this, you may refer to my analysis of the Slim by-election below (CLICK HERE OR LINK BELOW) and put two and two together.

“Take this as friendly advice from someone who once knew you.”
