More supporters of former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad quit PPBM today, making it the second day in what is said to be a systematic exodus from the party en masse by grassroots, division and branch leaders.
According to a report (FMT), supreme council member and Youth information chief Ulya Aqamah Husamudin announced his departure from the party.
Earlier this morning, PPBM Youth exco member Abu Hafiz Salleh Hudin also announced his resignation, saying he will be supporting the new party led by Mahathir.
Yesterday, Jeram state assemblyman Mohd Shaid Rosli quit PPBM and announced that he was now an independent state lawmaker aligned to Dr Mahathir.
PETALING JAYA: More supporters of former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad quit PPBM today, making it the second day in what is said to be a systematic exodus from the party en masse by grassroots, division and branch leaders.
According to a report (FMT), supreme council member and Youth information chief Ulya Aqamah Husamudin announced his departure from the party.
In making the announcement, Ulya called on the party to re-evaluate itself and return to its initial struggle and objectives.
Earlier this morning, PPBM Youth exco member Abu Hafiz Salleh Hudin also announced his resignation, saying he will be supporting the new party led by Mahathir.
Yesterday, Jeram state assemblyman Mohd Shaid Rosli quit PPBM and announced that he was now an independent state lawmaker aligned to Dr Mahathir.
His action was also echoed by the division’s committee members, branch heads and the majority of Bersatu Kuala Selangor Division members, who quit en masse.
Others who left include supreme council members A Kadir Jasin, Tariq Ismail Mustafa and Abu Bakar Yahya.
Later in the day, PPBM Klang was dissolved by its Chief Syed Abdillah Syed Abdul Aziz who announced his interest in joining Mahathir’s new party.
It is also said many members nationwide have either submitted their resignation letters or are in the midst of doing so.
