A Special Task Force investigation or RCI may be required but it is NOT required to investigate the government’s RM1 million investment in 1MDB. It is required to investigate the fake news that Ho, Tong and Clare generated and the stolen documents they bought from Justo and how they doctored those documents and what happened to the US$2 million that they paid Justo but which he claims he never received.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Five months ago, Ho Kay Tat — the man who together with his boss, Tong Kooi Ong, bribed Xavier Andre Justo US$2 million (RM8.6 million) in return for documents stolen from PetroSaudi International (PSI) — wrote an academic piece (READ BELOW) on the ongoing Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into the RM31.5 billion Bank Negara forex scandal.
The article runs into more than 1,500 words but basically what Ho wanted to say, which is at the end of the article, is:
Perhaps, one day, we will be lucky enough to also have the full picture of the affairs of 1MDB. Current Minister of Finance 2 Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani did say this month that no action had been taken against anyone in Malaysia over 1MDB because we have only “half the story” so far. In that case, should we not have a task force on 1MDB as well so Malaysians can have the full picture?
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has already done an investigation into 1MDB plus the Auditor General has come out with their report on the same matter. What other Special Task Force investigation or Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) does Ho still need? How many times do you need to investigate the same matter and keep coming out with duplicate reports that just repeat what has already been said?
Anyway, the government’s equity in 1MDB is only RM1 million so why the need for a Special Task Force or RCI to investigate that RM1 million investment? And that RM1 million is not lost. It is still there. And it is backed with RM51 billion in assets. So what more does Ho feel a Special Task Force or RCI needs to investigate?
DAP has members in the PAC and Tan Seng Giaw, one of the PAC members from DAP, already announced that they found no evidence to support Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s claim that Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak stole RM42 billion of 1MDB’s money. Is Ho saying Seng Giaw lied?
If Ho feels a Special Task Force investigation or RCI is required then one should be set up to investigate him, his boss Tong, and Clare Rewcastle Brown. Ho and Tong say they paid Justo US$2 million through Clare but Justo claims he never received the money. So is Justo lying or is Clare still keeping the US2 million?
Furthermore, Justo says he did not doctor any documents and that he handed over the originals to Ho and Tong. So that means they and not Justo must have doctored those documents. These are very serious allegations — buying stolen classified documents and doctoring them — so a Special Task Force investigation or RCI is required to look into this.
Ho, Tong and Clare will be central to any Special Task Force investigation or RCI while Justo will be the prime witness. Therefore Ho, Tong, Clare and Justo will all have to testify before the Special Task Force or RCI. If this talk about a Special Task Force investigation or RCI on 1MDB is not merely an attempt to oust Najib then there should be no problem for Ho, Tong and Clare testifying in Kuala Lumpur.
