The reason why Sarawak Report published the fake news regarding Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak paying lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah RM9.5 million to ensure that Anwar Ibrahim is convicted and is sent to jail for Sodomy II has finally been revealed. Anwar wants to use this fake news to try to get his conviction overturned.
Anwar realises that His Majesty the Agong is not going to grant him a pardon (anyway, Anwar never applied for a pardon so how can His Majesty grant him something he never asked for). Hence without a pardon Anwar cannot contest the general election until after 2025 when he is about 80 years old or so. Hence also, in other words, Anwar is never going to be the seventh Prime Minister of Malaysia (or even the eight, ninth or tenth).
Anwar’s only and last hope is to try to get his conviction overturned. And the way he hopes to do this is to allege that Najib paid Shafee RM9.5 million. If I were given the task of making sure that Anwar gets convicted for sodomy, I would not do it for RM9.5 million. Short of RM30 million it would be no deal.
If they can pay Zahid Mat Arip and the the PKR ‘Dirty Dozen’ RM25 million to defect, and if they can pay DAP’s Hee Yit Foong RM25 million to defect and bring down the Pakatan Rakyat Perak state government, why would I accept just RM9.5 million to ensure that Anwar goes to jail? That job would easily be worth RM30 million, plus expenses.
Anyway, even if it is true that Najib paid Shafee RM9.5 million, so what? “The legal challenge is for breach of his constitutional rights,” said Anwar’s lawyer, N. Surendran. Breach of constitutional rights? Why would paying Shafee RM9.5 million be a breach of Anwar’s constitutional rights? Where the hell did Surendran get his law degree from?
It was the judges who sent Anwar to jail, not Shafee. If the judges believed Shafee’s argument more than they believed Anwar’s lawyer’s argument, that can only mean Shafee is a brilliant lawyer while Anwar has idiots working for him. Why did Anwar not employ better lawyers? Or is Surendran saying that the judges are corrupt and were bought? Is so then say it!

In short, Anwar sent himself to jail due to his weak defence and due to the bunch of idiots working for him. It was a suicide mission from the word go. Anwar had “I am guilty” written all over his face and in everything he did. Even I could have got Anwar convicted in spite of the fact I did not go to law school.
Anwar got Sarawak Report to publish this fake news of Najib paying Shafee RM9.5 million because he wants to argue this so-called ‘fact’ as grounds for his acquittal. Let us see how far Anwar is going to go with this fake news defence strategy. I bet Anwar is going to suffer yet another of his many defeats. Why won’t Anwar just accept the fact he got caught with his pants down, plus due to his own stupidity, and sit in jail until 2020?
