(Express): Donald Trump halted his Hannukah speech live on television to call for a doctor in an apparent “medical episode”.

The US president was addressing the crowd to discuss the Jewish festivities after the horrific terror attack on Bondi Beach in Australia, which killed at least 15 people, including a 10-year-old girl.

But partway through his address, an audience member appeared to be struggling, causing Trump to halt the whole thing to ask them personally: “Are we okay over there? Just want to make sure you’re okay. You okay? Good, I want to make sure you’re perfect. Thank you very much. Yeah, is there a doctor? Get a doctor over there, please, just in case.”

As a doctor volunteered themself from the crowd, he told them: “Go ahead, hop over there, please. Good. Thank you very much. Everything good? Okay. Great person!”

Someone else said: “President Trump is a truly compassionate man. He is.”

“Classy leadership in the moment. Politics aside, stopping to make sure someone is OK shows basic human decency,” another said.

It comes after a man fainted in front of the president in the Oval Office.

Representative Gordon Finlay fell to the floor and the press was quickly ushered out of the room so medics could be brought in.

Trump later issued a health update, saying: “You saw he went down. And he’s fine. They just sent him out. He’s got the doctors’ care. But he’s fine.”

Dr Mehmet Oz provided first aid at the scene, while Trump spoke to Gordon’s wife on the phone to reassure her that her husband was okay.
