#TTFCovid19: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, infected by the Covid-19 causing Coronavirus, is receiving “standard oxygen treatment” and is breathing without assistance a day after being transferred to intensive care.

According to a spokesperson from Downing Street, Johnson has not required invasive or non-invasive ventilation and does not have pneumonia.

His worsening condition raised some serious questions about who is leading the country as the United Kingdom lacks formal succession procedures for heads of government.

Prior to his admission in hospital, Johnson nominated Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab to deputize for him “as necessary.”

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, infected by the Covid-19 causing Coronavirus, is receiving “standard oxygen treatment” and is breathing without assistance a day after being transferred to intensive care.

According to a spokesperson from Downing Street, Johnson has not required invasive or non-invasive ventilation and does not have pneumonia.

“He has not required mechanical ventilation or non-invasive respiratory support,” the spokesman told reporters.

On the 27th of March 2020, Johnson revealed that he had tested positive for the Cornavirus.

Yesterday, news of his worsening condition broke minutes into a special address by Queen Elizabeth II that was being watched by millions of United Kingdom citizens.

Johnson was admitted to St. Thomas’ Hospital in London on Sunday evening for “tests” due to his “persistent symptoms.”

Prior to his admission in hospital, Johnson nominated Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab to deputize for him “as necessary.”

However, there is no recent precedent in the UK for a sitting Prime Minister who becomes incapacitated for a long period of time.

Downing Street has since clarified that Raab was indeed running the country from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office with the support of government officials.

According to its spokesperson, Raab would chair meetings of the National Security Council if necessary and had the authority to respond on military action.
