Under fire, Muhyiddin says no ‘Movement Control Order’

Muhyiddin’s administration stands accused of practicing double standards as it seems to grant Ministers and Members of Parliament aligned with government ‘free passes’ to transgress SOPs while the commoner is either imposed hefty fines or dragged to court before being put under detention. The government does not intend to implement a Movement Control Order (MCO) throughout the country.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said this today, adding, if an MCO is reestablished, it could collapse the country’s social and economic system.

The Perikatan Nasional and Barisan Nasional led government is under fire for a multitude of reasons, the least among which is its determination to wrest control of state governments through democratic thievery amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

The infamous Sheraton Move led by Muhyiddin and the attempt by Tan Sri Musa Aman to dislodge the WARISAN led Sabah government have been attributed as reasons the country witnessed huge spikes in Covid-19 cases since March this year.

PETALING JAYA: The government does not intend to implement a Movement Control Order (MCO) throughout the country.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said this today, adding, if an MCO is reestablished, it could collapse the country’s social and economic system.

According to him, the government is implementing Targeted Tightened Movement Control Orders instead in areas identified as having a high number of Covid-19 cases.

“With this, economic and social activities in other areas that are not affected, can be continued with the practice of strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) and strict enforcement,” he said.

He said this in a special message on the current situation of Covid-19, carried live via his official Facebook account today.

TTF has accused the federal administration of practicing “laws of the jungle” and has repeatedly sought Muhyiddin’s immediate exit as Prime Minister.
