[Video]: Pakatan Harapan is not only stuck in the past, it’s in limbo

TTF: Pakatan Harapan is stuck in the past (see editorial below). True. But it’s also stuck in limbo.

In a previous article (PLEASE DO READ HERE), I explained in detail why the Yang di-Pertuan Agong will never accept Dr Mahathir Mohamad as candidate for the post of Prime Minister. Now, unless you’re the kind who is easily fooled by propaganda, you can see clearly in campaign messages the opposition coalition is spreading online that it is stuck in limbo.

Take the video below, for instance.

This is a demo video that Pakatan Harapan intends to viral using the social media. Look at the video, notice how Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is the one with the most face time. Now tell me, if Mahathir were truly Pakatan’s pick, why is he not the one doing most of the talking?

Isn’t he the coalition’s Top Dog?

It is quite clear that the opposition coalition itself knows Mahathir can never be its choice of a Prime Minister. It is aware that the scandal-laden Muhyiddin may end up being the pick as he is likely to be accepted by the Agong. And that is why Muhyiddin has the most face-time – it would be suicide for the coalition to spend too much money popularising a face the Agong may never accept to become Prime Minister.

Now do you understand why Pakatan Harapan is in a limbo?

On one hand, it needs Mahathir’s charisma to pull in voters and his moles in UMNO to deliver secrets. On the other hand, they’re giving Muhyiddin a hell of a lot of face time in promo videos and pamphlets in their campaign to destabilise Barisan Nasional.

And that has voters scratching their heads wondering what’s going on.

Editorial by Malaysian Access:

Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for prime minister remains anybody’s guess despite earlier media reports of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad possibly helming the country once again. In the latest development during a recent press conference DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng had commented that the opposition coalition may announce their choice by next month.

Of course he later qualified this with a “hopefully.” The alliance’s inability to unequivocally announce its prime ministerial candidate is understandable given that all this while it only had one individual in mind. But with Malaysia heading to the polls in the coming months Pakatan Harapan is now hard pressed to name someone, who will be the interim prime minister in the event the opposition coalition wins.

Although Tun Dr. Mahathir’s name was chosen during the Pakatan Harapan retreat there appears to be strong reservations within the People’s Justice Party (PKR) particularly those loyal to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The fact that Lim Guan Eng is unable to say with certainty that a name will be announced next month underscores the gravity of the matter. It also seems to suggest the coalition is not open to leadership renewal or injecting fresh blood. Is there a dearth of qualified young leaders within Pakatan Harapan?

There are several other more suitable candidates within the ranks of Pakatan Harapan such as Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, Dato’ Seri Mukhriz Mahathir or even Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Thus it begs the question as to why Tun Dr. Mahathir’s name remains a nominee for interim prime minister. While Pakatan Harapan promotes itself as a group of political parties that are ready to bring about change to Malaysia, it feels like the coalition is only bringing Malaysia back into the past to relive history all over again. Perhaps Malaysians should carefully ponder over this.
