Earlier today, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng came out to ‘clarify’ Tun Dr Mahathir Moamad’s statement by explaining that PPBM will only accept former Umno members with a clean track record into its fold.
Now we have PKR president Datin Seri Dr Wan Aizah Ismail telling us that PPBM is not a carbon copy of UMNO and would never morph into the Barisan Nasional component party.
If indeed Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim has numbers on his side and can pull off a vote of no confidence, there would be no reason for the leaders of PKR and the DAP to worry about PPBM spreading its wings.
SUBANG JAYA: PPBM appears to have newly appointed spokespersons in every party within the ruling Pakatan Harapan.
It appears that everyone in PH has become an expert on PPBM and what Mahathir means except for those who should be the real experts – PPBM people.
Guan Eng put his own shoe in his mouth by admitting that he had yet to scrutinise Mahathir’s statement and gave no indication whatsoever if he planned to meet the latter.
Wan Azizah spoke as if she could read Mahathir’s mind and behaved as if she was his personal secretary.
She too gave no indication if she planned to meet the Prime Minister.
The duo appears shaken by Mahathir’s call for all Malay-based parties to come under PPBM’s roof in the name of unity.
If indeed Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim has numbers on his side and can pull off a vote of no confidence, there would be no reason for leaders from PKR and the DAP to worry about PPBM spreading its wings.
As a matter of fact, the worry itself goes a long way to show that team Anwar is in cahoots with team Lim Kit Siang to keep Mahathir’s influence in check.
