TTF: According to NST Online (see news item below), Lim Guan Eng tasked the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) to investigate Jho Low and his family in relation to 1MDB. That struck me as weird, considering that the people the Minister of Finance consorts with spent years accusing Low of being the Grinch who sneaked into 1MDB one cold and stormy night to loot everything from the bulb atop the kitchen sink to the underwear the security guard was wearing.
Don’t get me?
Well, it’s quite simple, really – for Lim and gang to have spent that much time throwing kitchen sinks, jetliners and 20-foot boats in Low’s direction, they surely had to have cut-and dry proof that the Penang born billionaire was indeed the crook they said he was. So why did they not lodge police and MACC reports instead?
Why, are they admitting that Pakatan Harapan never once had proof of any sort and slandered Low all this while?
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s finance minister said on Friday he has asked the Inland Revenue Board to investigate financier Low Taek Jho and his family in relation to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), the state fund at the heart of massive anti-corruption probe.
Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said in a tweet: “The Inland Revenue Board is asked to investigate Jho Low and his family in relation to any returns or anything received in the 1MDB scandal.”
The whereabouts of Low, a close friend of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s family, is unknown. He has previously denied any wrongdoing. Najib, who was defeated in an election two weeks ago, has been barred from leaving Malaysia, as the new government has relaunched an investigation into how billions of dollars disappeared from 1MDB.
