Muhammad Yusoff Rawther lawyer, Hanif Khatri, said his client is prepared to undergo a polygraph test over his sexual misconduct allegation against PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“Yusoff is aware that only the court has the right to determine whether to admit the outcome of the polygraph test.

“He is nevertheless prepared to fully cooperate with the police to assist them in completing their investigation in a fair and conclusive manner.

Reports before this cited that a polygraph test was among the approaches to be considered by police in their probe into the allegations by Yusoff against Anwar.

KUALA LUMPUR: Muhammad Yusoff Rawther is prepared to undergo a polygraph test over his sexual misconduct allegation against PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

His lawyer Hanif Khatri said his client was prepared to undergo the test anytime and was awaiting police instruction.

This was to enable police to conduct a fair and transparent investigation,

“Yusoff is aware that only the court has the right to determine whether to admit the outcome of the polygraph test.

“He is nevertheless prepared to fully cooperate with the police to assist them in completing their investigation in a fair and conclusive manner.

“He is also aware that as in the case of other forensic tests, there is no special legal provision for the court to admit such a polygraph evidence but he believes that such a technology needs to be utilised in the investigation process to back his allegation,” he said in a statement today.

Reports before this cited that a polygraph test was among the approaches to be considered by police in their probe into the allegations by Yusoff against Anwar.

Yusoff gave his statement to Bukit Aman on Dec 9, while Anwar did so on Dec 12 on the sexual misconduct allegations.

The former PKR researcher had made a statutory declaration public earlier this month, alleging that he was sexually assaulted by Anwar on Oct 2.
