“Everybody knows that Tun Mahathir’s intention is to cause disunity and to break Najib and Zahid”
KUALA LUMPUR: Everyone should stop polemicising the issue of Tun Dr Mahathir’s Indian parentage, said Umno youth deputy chief Senator Khairul Azwan Harun.
Azwan was commenting on Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s statement on Sunday at the Kelana Jaya Umno division meeting stating that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s real name was “Mahathir a/l Iskandar Kutty”.
“What was mentioned by Zahid was the truth and a fact. Why must Tun Mahathir be so ashamed of that? This issue was brought up before by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Mohamad Sabu,” he said.
Azwan said the statement was not even shocking.
“Everybody knows that Tun Mahathir’s intention is to cause disunity and to break Najib and Zahid,” he said in a press conference this evening at the Putra World Trade Centre.
On the upcoming 14th General Election, Azwan said the Barisan National Youth would be working together to strengthen the party machinery to win votes from the youths.
“We will accept the candidate named by BN in the upcoming GE.
“BN Youth still wants the government to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty from certain quarters who want to shake the politics and economy stability,” he said.
On another issue, Azwan also urged the government to be systematic and serious in controlling the price of goods.
“This should not be a seasonal action as it would be manipulated by certain quarters to gain profit and will cause in the living cost of the people.”
