TTF: Here’s the thing:
The administration of Dr Mahathir Mohamad charged Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak in court to allay suspicion that Pakatan Harapan lied to the people about the former premier.
The charges were preferred upon Najib by the MACC under the watch of Dato’ Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull, the agency’s current head.
Shukri was sworn in as MACC chief only after the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court read out the charges to Najib on the 4th of July 2018.
What this means, is that the probe conducted by the agency was without jurisdiction and, by all appropriate terms of reference, illegal.
This is further made manifest when one considers that Shukri himself needs to be probed by the MACC for a variety of reasons.
One of these reasons has to do with an investigation paper the MACC head put together sometime back in 2015.
The paper concerned a probe that was conducted by the MACC into the RM2.6 billion that ended in Najib’s account.
According to the paper, the then Governor of Bank Negara, Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz, knew that the money was a gift from the Government of Saudi Arabia and even suggested that the money be parked in Najib’s account.
Shukri refused to call Zeti in for questioning during the MACC’s latest round of probes despite knowing about her role in the RM2.6 billion transfer.
His refusal to do so implied that a conspiracy existed between him and Zeti to throw Najib under the bus.
But it was not until Zeti denied knowledge of the RM2.6 billion that the element of conspiracy was carved in stone.
Her denial immediately brought to question the paper Shukri prepared in 2015 given that its content did not jive with what she said.
Shukri should immediately have dropped all charges preferred against Najib and resigned to allow someone else to discover if or not the paper was fabricated.
Instead, he allowed the court to charge the former premier and even claimed that the MACC was making headway into the affair.
His actions confirmed that the probes carried out by the MACC were with male fide intent and done to throw Najib under the bus.
The fact that he went out of his way to protect Zeti showed that the duo are determined to finish Najib off by hook or by crook.
The fact that Tommy Thomas allowed the MACC’s filings to go through shows that the conspiracy extended all the way to the Government of Malaysia (GoM).
When all of this was pointed out by The Third Force, the GoM immediately undertook to shift the conversation away from Najib by putting Jho Low under some high-intensity spotlights.
Yesterday, I wrote (in red):
Once again, we’re being fed with meaningless feeds regarding this so-called ‘hunt’ for Jho Low.
A report that surfaced on the 8th of July 2018 even went so far as to suggest that the billionaire was a fugitive on the run.
On that day, TTF pointed out that a person can only be referred to as a fugitive if he or she were to be in hiding.
Low couldn’t possibly fit that description considering that the Government of Malaysia (GoM) admitted that it knew his whereabouts.
As a matter of fact, the GoM even confirmed that Low had communicated with Malaysian authorities and agreed to extend full cooperation.
And let’s not forget the fact that the GoM failed to file a formal request for his arrest in the country he is supposed to be ‘hiding’.
So how could it be that Low is being hunted?
Is the NST not aware that Dr Mahathir Mohamad attempted to negotiate terms with the billionaire via a special Skype session in the Prime Minister’s office?
On the 8th of July 2018, I wrote (in red):
Is Mahathir going to deny that he and Daim Zainuddin asked Low to testify against Najib in such a way that the former premier would be made to look like the person who “masterminded the 1MDB scandal?”
To date, neither Daim nor Mahathir has come out to deny this claim.
Could it be they’re afraid, that if they did so, a lot more cats will come crawling out of their bags once I dangle some fish in front of them?
Do I still need to conclude this article by telling you that the GoM has no case against Najib?
Can you now see why the media is suddenly talking about Low’s wizardry in Mathematics and the colour of underwear he likes to wear?
Does Mahathir and gang really think we’re that stupid?
GEORGE TOWN: Businessman Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, was a reserved student who did extremely well in mathematics.
One of his former teachers, who preferred to remain anonymous, told the New Straits Times today that Low did not mix much with other students, but stuck to a few close friends.
“I know it sounds like a cliche, being Chinese and good in maths, but Low was different.”
He said Low’s math teachers told him that Low prepared himself in advance and had no problem understanding mathematical concepts that were taught for the first time.
“He was a bright student overall, but his ability to grasp Mathematics was really something,” he said.
Jho Low is the youngest of the three children of Low Hock Peng.
He was born in George Town, Penang, on Nov 4, 1981.
He studied at SJK (C) Union, Chung Ling High School, International School of Penang (Uplands) and Harrow School in London.
He did his undergraduate studies and obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Wharton Business School in the United States.
During his last visit to Penang in May 2013, Low donated RM1 million to his primary school.
“It is good that he came back and contributed to his old school, but I did not manage to meet him,” said the retired teacher.
Low is accused of corruption, bribery and money laundering by law enforcement agencies in several countries in connection with the 1Malaysia Development Bhd financial scandal.
The authorities are trying to track him down.
