Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari is prepared to face the party’s disciplinary board for purportedly making controversial statements against certain individuals in the party.
Assuming Amirudin is called, it would mark the second time in history team Anwar is training its guns at a sitting Selangor MB appointed from PKR’s rank and file.
In 2014, Anwar conspired with Saifuddin Nasution, Rafizi Ramli, Tommy Thomas and Dato’ Ambiga Sreenevasan to have Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim removed from the top job.
SHAH ALAM: Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari says he is prepared to face the party’s disciplinary board for making controversial statements against certain individuals in the party.
According to the New Straits Times Online, Amirudin claimed he has yet to receive a letter from the board demanding an explanation from him.
“I do not know what I am supposed to explain to the board as I have not received anything yet.
“Once I get it, I will respond to it,” he said after launching the state-level Korban Perdana programme in Section 7.
Asked if it was related to a speech he gave during a special thanksgiving prayer to reject gutter politics, Amirudin said he did not know.
The prayer, held last week at Amirudin’s official residence, was attended by PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and several other party leaders.
Following the event, communications director Fahmi Fadzil said Amirudin would be called along with Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal and a few other party members to face the board.

In 2014, Anwar conspired with Saifuddin Nasution, Rafizi Ramli, Tommy Thomas and Dato’ Ambiga Sreenevasan to have Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim removed from the top job.
Thomas was then a lawyer representing Bank Islam and had access to accounts registered under Khalid’s name.
On the 16thof May 2019, TTF posted:
On the 10thof February 2019, I lodged a police report at the IPD in Subang Jaya seeking investigations under the Official Secrets Act 1972 and Section 97(1) of the “Akta Bank dan Institusi-Institusi Kewangan 1989 (ABIK)” over some document leaks.
The said documents were secrets that pertained Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim’s personal banking details and his dealings with Bank Islam that Tommy leaked from the bank with the assistance of a banking official while he was still the bank’s lawyer.
Tommy handed over the secrets to Ambiga, who, in turn, handed them over to Saifuddin Nasution, Rafizi Ramli and Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The documents became the basis to a 90-plus page dossier that led to Khalid Ibrahim’s eventual ouster as Selangor Menteri Besar.
On the 4thof July 2019, I added:
The dossier bore sensitive banking details, the release of which constituted a crime under various banking and national secrecy laws.
One thing led to another before Khalid filed a defamation suit against Saifuddin and a number of other defendants seeking a written apology, damages and an injunction to restrain them from further defaming him.
One year later, Saifuddin entered a settlement agreement with Khalid, admitted that the allegations in the dossier were fake and publically apologised for tarnishing Khalid’s reputation.
The conclusion?
Saifuddin “openly accused a PKR leader of wrongdoing” five years ago before admitting that he falsified documents to tarnish the reputation of the leader.
His case ended up being tried in court before he entered a settlement agreement with the said leader pursuant to terms set by the latter.
Not only did this establish Saifuddin’s crime, it proves that team Anwar simply wanted Khalid gone to ensure that the person running Selangor was either Anwar or someone pro-Anwar.
And it looks like Anwar is going to repeat history just because Amirudin is pro-Azmin.
