Lim Guan Eng, quit your job. The Red Bean Army needs you

“This chicken of a Chief Minister will never will never dare open his mouth even if I were to call him a cow. There is no way on earth he can justify his decision to award the project to CZBUCG or the fact that the SPV was ill-capacitated to carry out the project from day one. An independent auditors’ report dated the 12th of December 2013 even went so far as to “cast significant doubt about the company’s ability to continue as a going concern.”

THE THIRD FORCE

Lim Guan Eng should resign as Penang Chief Minister to lead the DAP’s Red Bean Army (RBA).

Going by the way he lies and spins regarding the multibillion Penang Undersea Tunnel project, he’d be doing the DAP a big favour by leading the party’s cyber team and teaching its troopers a thing or two about “bullshxxing effectively.” Not only are they pathetic at spinning, they’re driving home the idea that the tunnel project is nothing but a fraudulent scheme to reap wealth through the sale of state land.

Even I am beginning to think along these lines.

And why wouldn’t I, considering that the Chief Minister broke established procurement guidelines by awarding the multibillion ringgit project to a company that had on its books a meagre RM100,000 in paid up capital. Despite that sum being magnitudes of a million short of the RM381 million requirement to qualify, the state government went ahead and awarded the RM6.3 billion project to the company by telling us that its fundamentals were strong.

To bug your eyes, Guan Eng got the state secretary to announce that the company in question, Consortium Zenith BUCG Sdn Bhd (CZBUCG), was backed by construction giant China Railway Construction Corporation Ltd (CRCC) and Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG). According to a 4th of March 2013 report by the state run Buletin Mutiara, the two companies acted in tandem with Consortium Zenith Construction Sdn Bhd (CZC) to offer a capital of RM4.5492 billion, all paid-up. The state government broke that capital down as follows:

CZC : RM3.5 million

CRCC: RM4 billion

BUCG: RM541 million

To drive home that message, on the 11th of April 2013, the Chief Minister insisted that “The project was not awarded to some RM2 crony company with no expertise or experience at an overly-inflated price but to companies with a combined paid-up capital of RM4.5 billion.” However, the Chinese construction firm has since disclosed that it never was a shareholder from the get-go. Yet, on 4th of March 2013, Guan Eng got the state secretary to declare that CZBUCG was “selected based on the evaluation of the financial and technical strength of the CRCC and BUCG.”

See the lies?

Not only did the Chief Minister quietly rope in fashion company Voir Holdings Sdn Bhd to replace both CRCC and BUCG, a recent disclosure revealed that the company had recorded significant losses in the past three financial quarters signalling the possibility that it could be headed for bankruptcy. Yet, we are expected to believe that this company possesses the billions required to compensate CRCC’s more than ‘mysterious departure’ from the tunnel deal.

How am I doing so far, Guan Eng? Dare call me a liar?

Take my word for it – this chicken of a Chief Minister will never dare open his mouth even if I were to call him a cow. There is no way on earth he can justify his decision to award the project to CZBUCG or the fact that the company was ill-capacitated to carry out the project from day one. An independent auditors’ report dated the 12th of December 2013 even went so far as to “cast significant doubt about the company’s ability to continue as a going concern.”

Yet, you find this fellow giving you 1,001 reasons why his administration performed everything in accordance with the law and established norms. To divert your attention from the many irregularities currently besieging his administration, he has switched to “cyber-trooper mode” and is now seen lying through his teeth with badly constructed spins and make belief stories that “boldly go where no bullsxxt has gone before.”

Seriously, this guy should opt to become the Red Bean Army General.
