“Nazir is said to have related how the Prime Minister’s Department (PMO) under Najib’s watch gave a false account of circumstances relating to the money spent extravagantly by Rosmah in New York. This is one of the numerous claims made by Nazir regarding Najib, Rosmah and the 1MDB scandal. Does Najib have the guts to deny any of  it?”

If this isn’t called “sh*t hitting the fan,” I don’t know what is.

Let me brief you:

Former CIMB chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Tun Razak has come out with a string of explosive details that relate directly to his elder brother, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, the latter’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and the infamous 1MDB scandal Najib is embroiled in.

Through his memoir, What’s In A Name, Nazir is said to have related how he had been warned by none other than Rosmah to “watch out.”

The best part is, this was said to have happened during a function, right in front of Najib and guests present, who apparently witnessed first-hand Rosmah telling the (then) Prime Minister of Malaysia not to talk to his own brother.

“For Rosmah, life was very simple: you were either with them or against them. There was no middle ground. Criticism was tantamount to betrayal.”

“Now at the Ramadan party, she grabbed Najib’s hand and looking straight at me said, loudly: ‘Don’t talk to him! He’s working against you and trying to topple you.'”

“People turned to look. Najib tried to calm her down, and defend me. She was having none of it. Nor was she finished. She added, with more than a hint of venom; ‘I know what you’re up to. I have eyes. You had better watch out,” said Nazir, Najib’s estranged brother (READ ORIGINAL BOOK REVIEW HERE).

It is understood that Nazir’s meddling in the 1MDB scandal strained his relationship and that of his other brothers with Najib.

In the book, reviewed by Andrew Sheng, Nazir is said to have related how the Prime Minister’s Department (PMO) under Najib’s watch gave a false account of circumstances relating to the money spent extravagantly by Rosmah in New York (READ HERE).

Accordingly, the PMO alleged that the money was not from government, following the publication of Louise Story’s article in the New York Times that touched on Jho Low and Rosmah’s spending habits.

According to Nazir, the PMO had falsely claimed that the money was inherited from the legacy of late Tun Abdul Razak, his father.

Nazir claimed that the statement not only seemed to deny his father’s ethics and integrity, it implied that Razak may had side income.

“I kept in touch with my three brothers – Nazim, Johari and Nizam. It didn’t take long for us to issue a statement together before I sent the statement to media friends and commentators I knew via Whatsapp.

“We are very concerned about our father’s reputation and explained that Tun Abdul Razak never inherited ‘legacy assets’ (as stated by the PMO). We concluded, we cannot accept those who try to tarnish the memory of our father, whatever the motive, ”explained Nazir in the article.

As soon as the statement was published, Nazir claimed he received a call from an unknown number.

However, Nizam, Nazim and Johari were said to have been smarter because they “hung the phone up.”

Nazir, on the other hand, answered the call and immediately got scolded by Najib, who allegedly said, “Why are you all embarrassing me in public?”

According to Nazir, what he and his brothers were trying to do was to protect the legacy and good name of their family, a legacy they would never let any party tarnish.

“Following that, the PMO blocked our statement from being published by the mainstream media for several days. However, the foreign media and blogs are not bound (by the PMO) and did not care about the ban.

“It is quite frustrating that a child will censor the statements of his siblings who were actually praising the integrity of their father,” he said.

Nazir also wrote about the moves he had made with The Edge owner Datuk Tong Kooi Ong to get the 1MDB case exposed.

One of the moves includes an “extraordinary meeting” with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in London, in which Nazir is said to have told Mahathir that “billions of dollars had gone missing from 1MDB.”

According to the book, Mahathir looked at the two after an hour and asked, “Why is it me that has to do something about it? I’m retired.”

“Well, sir,” Nazir replied. “You have to do something because you made him Prime Minister.”
