Yet another plot to topple yet another Menteri Besar – this time, in Johor

Just as there was buzz of an attempt to overthrow the current Menteri Besar of Perak, we now have rumours of yet another coup plot, this time, to topple the Menteri Besar of Johor, Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal.

According to a news report, Johor public works, infrastructure and transportation committee chairman Mohd Solihan Badri dismissed any problems in the state government on grounds of dissatisfaction with Sahruddin’s leadership.

In Perak, Paul Yong Choo Kiong is up against Nga Kor Ming and his men, who are said to be in cohorts with DAP central and Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim to supplant Ahmad with first time exco-cum-assemblyman, Aziz Bari.

TTF discovered that the coup plot did indeed exist but fell flat on its face following developments where PKR number two, Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali, wage an out-and-out war against party number one, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

When it became apparent that Azmin was winning the war, a number of PKR, DAP and AMANAH assemblymen began distancing themselves from Bari and have since inched themselves closer to Ahmad.

SUBANG JAYA: Just as there was buzz of an attempt to overthrow the current Menteri Besar of Perak, we now have rumours of yet another coup plot, this time, to topple the Menteri Besar of Johor, Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal.

And as with the previous plot, this one is from within the ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition itself.

According to a news report, Johor public works, infrastructure and transportation committee chairman Mohd Solihan Badri dismissed any problems in the state government on grounds of dissatisfaction with Sahruddin’s leadership.

“We in Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) are also solid in our support toward the mentri besar.

“There is no single Bersatu division chief who is strategising to sideline him,” he reportedly said, adding that Johor PPBM chief Mazlan Bujang also extended his fullest cooperation.

Solihan’s comments came after Johor Umno Youth chief Mohd Hairi Mad Shah alleged in a statement yesterday that there was attempt within Bersatu to replace the mentri besar.

Solihan further added that during the recent state assembly session, PH elected representatives had given their undivided support and provided feedback for the state budget, which was Dr Sahruddin’s first as the mentri besar.

Previously, in Perak, a DAP assemblyman claimed trial to a charge of raping an Indonesian at 52, Desa Meru 2, Meru Desa Park, Meru Raya on the 7thof July 2019, between 8.15pm to 9.15pm.

Paul Yong Choo Kiong, the accused, believes that the charges were trumped up, with some convinced that the whole affair was part and parcel of a scheme to oust Ahmad Faizal Azumu, the Menteri Besar of Perak.

Paul happens to be a state executive councillor (EXCO) and close associate of Ahmad, the sole PPBM assemblyman in the northwestern peninsula state.

The duo is up against Nga Kor Ming and his men, said to be in cohorts with DAP central and Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim to supplant Ahmad with first time exco-cum-assemblyman, Aziz Bari.

Bari is from the DAP.

The mission, it seems, was to dismantle Ahmad’s alliance with Paul and may even have had something to do with the rape charge.

Paul had initially taken a leave of absence pending the outcome of his case until rumours surfaced that Bari was about to zero in on Ahmad.

The rumours stemmed from a video clip featuring a “very confessional” Bari exposing a coup plot that seemed to have Anwar written all over it.

The clip forced Paul to end his leave abruptly and return to office amid criticism from fellow DAP assemblymen.

TTF later discovered that a coup plot did indeed exist but fell flat on its face following developments where PKR number two, Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali, waged an out-and-out war against party number one, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

When it became apparent that Azmin was winning the war, a number of PKR, DAP and AMANAH assemblymen began distancing themselves from Bari and have since inched themselves closer to Ahmad.

It is only a matter of time before we witness a PKR group from Perak calling a press conference to denounce Anwar’s leadership of the party.
