“Don’t pay too much attention to the idea that the majority of UMNO MPs will end up in PPBM. It could be this or it could be that, depending on circumstances that prevail when Mahathir decides to make his move. It would well be that UMNO and PPBM will merge into a single entity that Mahathir will name UPNO. I am also told that Mahathir and Daim negotiated the possibility of all 125 MPs turning independent before establishing Gagasan Perpaduan Pribumi Nasional (GPPN), a coalition set to be renamed Barisan Baru Nasional (BBN) ahead of the 15thgeneral election (GE15)”

I’m sure every one of you read what Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Hussein had to say yesterday with keen interest.
Commenting on rumours that he is facilitating the mass exodus of lawmakers from UMNO, the former party vice-president claimed that the rumours were stumbling blocks to unification efforts by party leaders. Actually, it’s quite ironic that he should be the one to say this. Not many are aware, that he is the one who facilitated the ‘leak’ of photographs showing him grinning alongside political bigwigs from across the divide. We had one of him with Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali vacationing together with their respective families at a resort in Marrakesh, Morocco.
Then, we had the one with him and Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak, Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Dato Seri Mohamad Hasan posing at a dinner table in Najib’s Pavillion suite. And that was yesterday. If my memory serves me well, this is the same table I once used to sit past midnight discussing The Third Force with Najib and why such a force was necessary for our country. My circle of informants had a saying, that if Najib was willing to seat you at that table, cigar and all, you were in his good book and could get away telling him that aliens existed. It was a thin book, that one…
Anyway, the only time you find these pictures of Azmin and Najib wending their way into gossip vineyards is when Hishammuddin is himself seen flashing his teeth in them. When Morocco went viral, all fingers were on Azmin’s son. When Pavillion went viral, we were told that Najib uploaded it on Facebook. Unless Najib is somehow complicit with Azmin, it is likely that Hishammuddin himself wants these pictures out for reasons I will leave for an upcoming piece. And no, I assure you that it has nothing to do with this thing we humans refer to as coincidence.
Not when you consider that Hishammuddin himself fuelled rumours of his encounter with Mahathir by admitting that a meeting took place. Azmin is Mahathir’s man. Everyone knows that these days, when you meet Azmin, it’s as good as you meeting Tun, albeit through proxy. Put all of this together, and you will see just why some negotiations are currently ongoing between Azmin, Najib, Zahid and Mohamad Hasan (Mat Hasan). And don’t you dare say I never told you so.

Mahathir is too busy getting 125 Malay-Muslim and Bumiputera Members of Parliament (MPs) to his side before triggering the collapse of Pakatan Harapan (READ FULL STORY, LINK BELOW). How he plans to accomplish this is subject to change, granted, as politics is never a black and white game. But once he gets what he wants, he will establish a new Muslim majority coalition without the DAP in the picture. Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak may not be aware of the details to the plan.
The reason being, his so-called strategists and planners have themselves been fed with fake schemes by Mahathir’s men. Only the Prime Minister and his closest associates know precisely what’s about to happen. Everything else they’re telling their own people is designed to prevent Najib from making unnecessary moves. Then, the minute Mahathir gets his 125 MPs, he will call Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Najib to the smoke-filled room to discuss their fates and that of UMNO. And mark my words – when I say it will happen, it will happen.
As we speak, efforts are underway to dissolve some of Najib’s court cases given that Mahathir already has 125 MPs on his side. As per rumours of MPs wanting to return to UMNO, I remember telling you that the whole idea of Mahathir wanting to deregister the party was a red herring, contrived by a certain Dato’ Seri to ensure that the blogging community continued to talk about it being as good as dead and gone. On the 4thof January 2019, I wrote:
Mahathir needed to strike fear in the hearts of UMNO MPs to secure their commitments towards his cause. To date, 30 have agreed in writing that they will join PPBM the minute he tells them to do so. Several others have been paid bribes to the tune of RM30 million per MP to secure their commitments towards an UMNO-PPBM merger. One or two were even blackmailed and told that their crimes would be forgiven should they agree to do his bidding. The plan has always been to sink UMNO to such a low that even the staunchest of Najib’s loyalists would throw in the towel. Mahathir wants the party to be left only with a select number of leaders who he thinks will turn Najib into the party’s acting president.
If these leaders don’t get the job done, he will go after their blood. Mahathir wants Najib to be acting president, or, at the very least, the party’s de facto chief. He is giving the former premier all the press time he needs to redeem himself, hoping that people will begin to sympathise with and believe in him. To avoid being accused of political persecution, he has committed to toning down on anti-Najib rhetoric and keeps stressing that the final say is with the courts, hoping that the move will earn him praise for keeping to the rule of law. Then, when the time is right, he will get the courts throw Najib’s charges out on technical grounds provided that the former premier agrees to some terms and conditions.
So what are these terms and conditions?
Well, to understand them, you first need to be aware, that UMNO is not just your everyday, run-of-the-mill platform, but a multibillion dollar entity with assets in various categories locked under some proxy and nominee concerns. The party also lays claim to the beneficial ownership of some assets currently parked under Lembaga Tabung Haji, Felda and Felcra. Problems will arise should Mahathir decide to deregister UMNO without giving due consideration to the ownership of these assets. He is well aware that the assets would have to be distributed between the party’s three-odd million members should UMNO be deregistered altogether. And that’s where Daim Zainuddin comes into the picture.
Thanks to him, Mahathir has formulated ways to rob some assets without anyone knowing anything about it. By riding on Daim’s influence in the global financial sector, he got several of his cronies to stylise financial reports in such a way that a bulk of those assets remain ‘hidden’. As per the assets belonging to Tabung Haji, he has undertaken to park them under a DAP-run Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) that will eventually transfer them to Khazanah. What concerns him now is the proxies and nominees Najib appointed between the years 2009 and 2017. Mahathir believes that the assets controlled by them generated some billions that they stashed somewhere in the central Asian region.
Mind you, don’t pay too much attention to the idea that the majority of UMNO MPs will end up in PPBM. It could be this or it could be that, depending on circumstances that prevail at the time Mahathir decides to make his move. It would well be that UMNO and PPBM will merge into a single entity that Mahathir will name UPNO. I am also told that Mahathir and Daim negotiated the possibility of all 125 MPs turning independent before establishing Gagasan Perpaduan Pribumi Nasional (GPPN), a coalition set to be renamed Barisan Baru Nasional (BBN) ahead of the 15thgeneral election (GE15).
And that brings us to the billion-dollar question – why is Hishammuddin hellbent on turning viral these pictures of him with Putin, Danial Craige, the Pope and what have you? What does he stand to gain from the gossip vineyard if indeed Barisan Baru Nasional (BBN) – or, as my good friend Salahuddin bin Hisham has it, Gagasan Perpaduan Nasional Malaysia (GPNS) – is on track? Do you not smell Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim written somewhere in all this? Could it be that Mahathir, Azmin, Najib, Zahid and Mat Hasan are sending a coded signal to the man Raja Petra Kamarudin referred to as country’s longest serving Prime-Minister-in-waiting?
